YHC sponsors winners! QUFC U8’s
We pride ourselves on trying to do as much for the local community as possible and this includes sponsoring Quarrydale United Football Club U8’s football team. The U8’s team is just one of 15 youth teams at Quarrydale United.
Scott Marsh, co-founder and director, being a huge football fan and qualified coach, is also one of Quarrydale’s coaches, with his son also being a player.
This wonderful group of boys trains so hard, and are a fantastic group of friends off the pitch. They enjoy each others parties, weekends away together, and it helps that the parents are all also great friends. The club also puts on family fun days and team-building activities to bring their community closer, and raise some funds to enhance the club’s facilities and coaching.
Quarrydale United describe themselves as “a community football club, which places fun and development of players’ technical abilities at its heart, and all provided in a fun, friendly and safe environment.”
Quarrydale recently played in their own clubs tournament which was held at their ground, Bentinck Miners Welfare in Kirkby. They showed fabulous team work and skill and made their way to the final.
In the final they came up against Clipstone Colts Napoli U8’s. With many of the boys across the teams actually being friends outside of football, it was a tough watch for all the parents and families watching.
Despite a good effort from Clipstone, it was Quarrydale who came out victorious with a 2-0 win!
*Fun fact: Our marketing officer, Tayla’s son plays for Clipstone. Tayla joked that if her son’s team won, she’d be getting sacked… so it’s a good job they didn’t!*
The tournament win meant the boys were able to bring the trophy home to Quarrydale United for only the 2nd year running. An amazing achievement!
