Your Home Care Awards 2023
For a very long time now, we’ve wanted to throw our own Awards ceremony for our wonderful team, our home care assistants and our office team, but just like lots of things, things got BUSY.
Christmas 2023, however, we made it our priority. Ideas were being thrown around about what we should do and where we should go for our Christmas party, that we just decided we would hold our own Christmas party at our head offices and turn it into Your Home Care Awards 2023.
We wanted to give something back to our homecare assistants and give them the recognition they deserve. We do our Above and Beyond awards throughout the year, and we’ll run competitions with prizes and host afternoon teas and pizza days; but this time, we really wanted a day of pure fun, gratitude and appreciation, for everyone to enjoy.
A lot of thought went into the categories and how these would be voted for. We wanted both the team to support and vote for their colleagues, as well as our clients in the community to give their thanks and appreciation too.
We had the wonderful Cordially Invited in to our offices to decorate our training room; it looked AMAZING!
Tayla, our marketing officer, created a wonderful graze table, suitable for everyone’s dietary needs; it was aesthetically pleasing to the eye, as well as pleasing to everyone’s appetites!
Votes really came in thick and fast! Everyone was really excited to cast their votes and they all sent some incredibly warming, heartfelt messages to accompany their vote.
We decided that we would have 3 “Carer of the Year” awards, for the 3 most voted homecare assistants, voted for by staff. Our 3 winners are:
Then we have our “Mansfield Carer of the Year” and our “Ashfield Carer of the Year”, which our clients voted for.
As well as our Carer of the Year Award, we thought it would be nice to have some other awards up for grabs, as well as some silly ones for the end of the afternoon! Again, these were all voted for by the team.
We also had awards that unfortunately, we didn’t get photographs of!
Our “5 more minutes” award went to Diane, for being consistently late but only because we know she cares that much that she will put all of her efforts into her work before she moves on to her next client.
Our “On the Dot” award went to Steph, for being the most punctual.
Our “Light at the end of the Tunnel” award went to Lisa, for exactly that, always seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and seeing the positives in all situations.
Our “She said it” award went to Jane, for always saying what others are thinking.
Our “Champagne” award went to Claire, for having the bubbliest personality.
And finally, our “First Responder” award went to Abbie, for always being prepared to help out at short notice.
With a certificate and a special gift for the winners of the Carer of the Year Award, we also made sure winners of the other categories received a bottle of bubbles and chocolates, and everyone received a token Christmas gift.
Overall, everyone had a fantastic afternoon. There were lots of Christmas jumpers, Christmas music and once the awards were done, time for everyone to eat, drink and chat, and get into the Christmas spirit.
Recognising our teams hard work and dedication to us is really important every day, and we’ll always say thank you and give praise where it’s always deserved. We hope to be able to do our awards again and really spoil our team and give them a day that’s all about them.
