Your Home Care turns 3!
We can’t quite believe that Your Home Care turned 3 in July!
Back in July 2020, at a time that many businesses faced uncertainty, Your Home Care was born.
During an unprecedented global pandemic, through frightening and uncertain times, there was one thing that was certain: we at Your Home Care, were determined to deliver Outstanding care to those in need.
Hospitals were overrun, care homes were locked down, families weren’t able to see their loved ones. We knew that we were needed to provide not only exceptional care, but a friendly face.
Since then, we have gone from strength to strength.
Our commitment and dedication through the pandemic didn’t go unnoticed. Our aim was to receive “Outstanding” from the CQC “within a couple of years”, and we were awarded it at our very first inspection in 2022. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and having been described as “exceptional” throughout the published CQC report.
In July 2023, we won the homecare.co.uk Top 20 care provider award! What better way to commemorate our 3rd anniversary! This is the 3rd year running that we have won this award and proves that our Outstanding care is consistent and something engrained in the very core of our company.
Within our first 6 months we introduced the use of the innovative RESTORE2 kits. In partnership with the NHS, we were the first domiciliary care provider in the UK to use these kits as part of our home care services. The RESTORE2 programme has won various awards since its inception in 2019 including a Parliamentary Award for Excellence and we are proud to be leading the way with its use. We provide training to all members of our team on the RESTORE2 kits, including all of our office team!
We are firm believers in embracing new technology and using it to our advantage.
After all, it’s not going anywhere! We implemented the use of two innovative software programmes: CarePlanner and Birdie. This software enables us to manage the care we provide in the very best way we can. Our care assistants use a QR code at the clients’ property to scan into their visit. All notes are logged in the app which is available for families to log into and view also, so they can see exactly what has been done in that visit. Having this instantaneous record means we are able to act quickly if we need to report to medical professionals or change care plans. This technology provides us with data that we can analyse to see if there’s ways to make our care any more efficient or effective. For example, we are able to see that we didn’t miss a single visit in 2022 and maintained a punctuality rating of 99% of visits to 30 minutes.
We have been expanding to offer these services in more areas throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
We began working with Derbyshire County Council to offer our services within Derbyshire. We also won a tender with Nottinghamshire County Council and are now on their list of approved additional care providers. Both of these expansions have enabled us to create employment opportunities for people in both of these areas, as well as offer more hours for those of our current staff who want them.
We try to lead the way in the sector and have actively been present in the community.
We did a Recruitment Roadshow, whereby we visited local leisure centres, community centres and Costa Coffee stores, to meet with people in the area and discuss with them what it’s like to work within the sector and what benefits we offer as an employer.
We held a Facebook Live Q&A session with a local radio host and relatives of clients. We answered lots of questions submitted by the general public about the sector in general, how to organise home care, where you can find help with funding, amongst others.
We attended 2 locations of the Carers Roadshow. We were able to give care receivers and care givers advice about home care services and this is where we began our FREE HEALTH CHECK service; using our RESTORE2 kits, our trained care assistants were able to check vital observations of the public.
Our aim is to be seen more in the community and so we will continue to attend local events such as family fun days and recruitment days, as well as organised community groups and sessions and hosting pop ups in shopping centres and supermarkets. We will be offering our free health checks at all of these events and pop ups, as well as talking to the public about our home care services and our current employment opportunities.
We are so appreciative of our team.
With all that we have achieved in the last 3 years and all the plans that we have to move forward and grow; it goes without saying that it could not have been done without the amazing team that we have. They truly are Outstanding. With all of the challenges, our team really have proved that they don’t just care for a living: they genuinely do care. They provide the very best care at all times, and we couldn’t be prouder.
As a small “thank you”, we threw a little birthday party BBQ at our offices and invited all of our team – office and community – and their families. We enjoyed some good food, courtesy of BBQ chef’s come Directors, Paul & Scott. We played games, laughs and had an overall lovely afternoon.
We also must thank our wonderful clients’ and their families. They put their trust in us to provide the Outstanding care that we promise. We will continue to do everything we can to support you and your loved ones, for as long as you need us.
What a busy 3rd year it has been!
We are very much looking forward to seeing what the next year brings!
If you know of someone who is caring, compassionate, and would make a great addition to our team in exchange for great employee benefits, then get in touch or head straight to our jobs page!
