Aimee completes her Level 5 in Health and Social Care

A huge congratulations to Aimee, who has completed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, with distinction.

That sentence is worth reading twice. Aimee joined us in 2020 as a home care assistant. Six years later, she holds a Level 5 qualification and is part of our management team.

The journey

Aimee did not follow a straight path. She started as a carer, visiting clients in their homes. She was good at it. But she kept putting her hand up for more.

We moved her into recruitment, where she took on interviewing, onboarding, and matching new starters to client teams. Then she completed her Train the Trainer qualification and took over all Care Certificate training and inductions for new recruits.

From there, she enrolled on her Level 5. She balanced the coursework alongside her day job, and she passed with distinction.

Today she is our Deputy Manager, part of the management team that keeps YHC running.

In Aimee's words

“Your Home Care has consistently recognised my potential, supported my career pathway from Health Care Assistant to Deputy Manager, and championed my professional development throughout. I am especially grateful to everyone at Your Home Care for their encouragement and belief in me during moments of self-doubt. Their support truly made the difference.”

What this shows

We talk about career progression a lot. Funded qualifications, promotion from within, a real pathway from care assistant through to management. Aimee is the proof that we mean it.

Her Level 5 was funded. Her time was supported. And the belief in her potential was there from the start.

If you are thinking about a career in care, or already working in care and wondering whether there is a route to something more, Aimee's story is the answer. The route is there. You just have to want it.

Oh, and she spun the prize wheel to celebrate. Won the £250 jackpot. Of course she did.
